Finished up the interior but still looking for the driver power seat switch. I have the 02 WS6 and took apart the switch to clean and fix it but it did not last. In my quest for finding a replacement I cannot believe how difficult it is! All of the ones I see (ebay etc.) are not correct; I'm looking for the switch that has the 'slide' for moving the seat back and forth and up and down. Anyone have an idea of where to get it or have one?
I can't upload images.
thanks
Joe
Thanks, I check with them occasionally but so far no go and not today. It used be good when you could go through a salvage yard to pick, but places by me don't allow that anymore. Sad.
^^^ yeah that is sad indeed. Several places around me allow me in the yard. 4th gens are a rare sight. I need the little bezel that goes around my fog lamp switch and the knob for my drivers power seat. Hawks tried to sell me a complete dash bezel for $50, but all I need is the small bezel thingy. Maybe I should buy it anyway. They didn't have my power seat knob.
Sometimes you have to bite the bullet on pricing if that's all there is. I'm willing to do that if I can find the switch!!
Went to the drag strip last night. Very pleased that my 162k WS6 still throws it down like she did 15 years ago. 5 runs, 3 over 109 MPH, with a best of 13.07 at 109.55. No sticky tires for the OE differential, but very happy!
Nice, any mods besides the Hooker LT's ?
And like always true to form. Make 2 steps of progress, then 1 step back. Went to have my alignment checked today after replacing the r&p and because of a little incident last weekend that put me almost in a ditch.
Found one of my rear LCA relocating brackets has a crack. So no more fun time till it's fixed. :sulk:
I forgot how to add pictures. I don't have any on my PC, they are on my phone. When I looked on the phone to post a reply, I didn't see how to.
Got to see video footage of the 6.0L running, and its getting dyno tuned on Thursday.
Downside is that my DD got rear ended in April and is a total loss. Hoping to get the cash for the TL repayment this week.
Not yet, he was road tuning it, and found that the stock injectors were not keeping up, so we had to get new ones. The T/A was supposed to go on the dyno for dyno-tuning last week but got cancelled on. Should be on Tuesday. Crossing my fingers!!
Hoping to have between 425 - 450 RWHP and gobs of torque,
Today was the day! After several dyno pulls, and an attempted suicide by the Dyno's RPM pickup unit, it maxed out at 415.61 rwhp @ ~6300 rpm and 386 lb/ft of torque @ ~5100 rpm, but the best run was when the RPM picked gave the ghost, so and the 386 was from a run with 408 rwhp, so it is likely more.
Its down from what I was hoping, but a likely pickup of 120 rwhp over stock, and 60 rwhp over the LS1 , tuned, with the same bolt-ons, vs this engine, and the car has a few weight reducing items in it, its not like this is a dramatically heavy car. (should be under 3,500 pounds now). So I am looking about 8.5 pounds per rwhp .Its also still running full emissions and not a high strung setup either.
Should be a good driver, all around.
Most importantly, it is a fresh engine, and should have no leaks!
Too Fast got an oil change and a tire rotation/balance today. Only put 2200 miles on her in 14 months....
went to Hotrod Powertour in Pensacola last Thur. It's been hotter than hell last 8 days here.
I will be getting my WS6 back on the 20th, can't wait to get it back, and take a spin and see what the 6.0L can do!
Got my WS6 back today. Jason has me do a 6,400 rpm pull on it to show how it hauls, and it is a definite noticeable difference. Its certainly not stealthy anymore, has a bit of vibration at idle; I am hoping some of that smoothes out with new exhaust hangars, they are squeaking like crazy, and probably vibrating a lot.
Not sure if there is a really good balancer out there that can take some more of the vibration out too? might be something worth looking into.
Are you using the old engine mounts, new, poly or solid? Poly and definitely solid will increase vibrations feel. If the mounts are old oem rubber ones you'll feel vibration also.
Another thing ppl overlook is the Transmission mount too. If you run poly on the engine you need to as well for tranny.
After a rebuild its common to have to go back under and recheck bolt tightness and adjust exhaust.
Enjoy it, just remember break in miles and check with builder about oil changes. Look at oil on those changes for bearing material.
