180* out? #1 at TDC for sure? Get the rotor pointed just shy of #1 on the dist and drop it into place. When i first swapped the cam in my car the dist dropped right back into place perfectly, when I pulled the intake due to the coolant leak, it wouldn't line up again. Took a long piece of clean 1/2" flat stock steel, bent a 90* for a handle and dropped it down the dist. hole to turn just the oil pump drive so that the dist. would drop in.
