:tss: (Short ppl) do, like kids, but once they morph into teenagers not so much.

Off to the garage in a bit
Have any of you guys owned or worked on a 06 Grand Prix?
My sons car has this "Reduce Engine Power" come across his display ever once in a while.
Car starts and runs the same but still not sure what the hell it is.
Codes range from bad CATS, OPSU, TBand ECM- no communication.
no communication is probably what's limping it from that list......check pcm plugs is where I would start. Not sure where the pcm is on those cars but if it's under the cowl make sure it isn't getting leaked on. I know vettes have had that problem.
it's under the air box.
There are times I think this car was in a flood.....
I was going to drag the Camaro down for some continued rehab, but with the track opening in a few weeks I think it has just been preempted by the Trans Am. Going to flush the cooling system and power steering fluid, and probably change the oil on it for starters.
Think I found where the ticking sound was coming from on my car...car had Hedman longtubes when I bought it "not the best in the world" and it looks like the weld where one of the EGR bungs was at finally gave out and it just blew the bung off...started as a tick "hairline crack probably" and now my car sounds like a 1982 Chevy Truck with exhaust and no cats...
Time for stainless long tubes and new exhaust.

Hahaha Pat I was going to suggest that but wasn't sure if you removed your egr stuff. I had a similar ticking noise last year and after using a broom handle I was able to pin it down to a gasket on the block off plate. Glad it wasn't more.
Hey, there's a hole in the header tube! :D
bondo
a competent Welder should be able to close it and not cost as much as new headers
I agree with what Scott says, but I personally wouldn't be investing any money on headers that were that old and already rusted like that.
Sadly I've seen Kooks do it also
Mornin
Happy Wednesday. Another office day for me thankfully.
Tonight's project will be replacing a steering rack on an '08 Dodge Dakota. Unfortunately, this truck spent 6-7 years of it's life up in New York State somewhere east of Buffalo. May have to get the big boy tools out on this one. :(
I have all the EGR stuff blocked off but the headers that were installed on my car before I got it still have the bungs "or had them" for the factory EGR equipment. Guess god decided I need to pollute the world a little more than usual and blew the welds :chuckles:
Lol! He is my size too, 5'11 170lbs. Wasn't too bad. That girlfriend of his is short and light, she fits perfectly lol. More room than a Mustang either way.
She knew better . Her car is manual also. He has himself a keeper.
Definitely repairable.
A skilled welder did this for me.

Spent part of the day replacing the thermostats and elements on the hot water heater. Looked like the original ones from when the house was built 10 years ago were still in the tank.
Had my furnace serviced about a month ago... it's a 1993 carrier. Knock on wood... keep on trucking furnace.
Sold my Polaris Predator 500cc. Down to just the Can Am, I can't ride two at once but I will miss being able to take any friend I want ATVing instead of just the ones with ATVs.
