i can getyou a pic later this week. it isa stock lid but i will have a SLP Lid inafew weeks. however the lid i am buyingdoesnot have the hole in the side.
On a stock setup, the hose that feeds the electric air pump connects to the helmholtz resonator -- that big ugly plastic thing between your air filter and the MAF. Any aftermarket lid should have a hole for the secondary air feed -- if not you can simply install a small crankcase breather filter in the hose and ziptie it to the radiator support. Or, just delete the system all together.
helmholtz resonator? umm you lost me there. is that the hose running to the top next to the TB?
and...
SLP offers two different lids---
--the 98-99 model that doesnt have the secondary air hose on the driverside
--the 00-02 model (like yours) that does have the hole on the driver side of the lid
Well, heck. Maybe your car does not have it.
The helmholtz resonator is the large plastic piece directly behind the air cleaner. It is designed to cancel standing waves in the intake tract. You can see it in the stock underhood pic of our car:

are you talking about behind the air lid baffles and near the bellows?
On a 99 you just need to remove the pump and the hose/pipes between the pump and the exhaust manifolds. The system looks like this.

so no pluging is required?
just tune out the SES light?
Well you do need to block off the AIR flanges on the exhaust manifolds or buy race headers that don't have AIR flanges.
The third blockoff plate in this pic is for EGR if you wanna remove that also

ok well if i delete AIR&ERG while i have stock manifolds, will the block off plates work on my headers as well? (i already bought emission headers before i found out about this free mod)
and where do i get these block off plates?
Yes the plates work on headers.
I got my plates from Speed Inc. but many others sell them
alrighty then. how long does this take? like 30min to an hour?
Whats the fuse and relay numbers?
Yeah i was talking to another member on here. My stickers are soooo faded i can tell but he posted a picture of his so i could cheat off it.
Pump is finally out and that concludes my !AIR/ERG mod. I finished the free ram air mod too and i need to do the TB BiPass.
I have everything removed except for the diverter. I don't see how this can be removed? It is mounted to a plate which is bolted to the back of the d/s head.
Is there a way to remove the diverter without removing the intake manifold?
You can snake a 15 mm wrench back there and loosen the bolt. The bracket will slide off once it is loose and then tighten the bolt back down. I can't recall, but I think there may be something else that is retained by this bolt.
is there any way to remove the diverter from the plate for now?
thanks, I will take a look at it tomorrow. It might be mounted like the tq arm bushing from the factory.
