I've always pondered this.. kind of one of those "would have been nice if.." things. Though on the bright side Pontiac being gone could drive the prices of well maintained and good condition 4th Gen Formulas and T/As. :D

I don't know where you can get a 20k v6. A no option v6 is 22,245 and they have a crazy mark up even on them around here. You could get an earlier ls1 z28 or Formula for that much though.
