Jon, they honestly only asked me what I think it's worth. I think once you break a certain value they require pictures of the car, but I can tell you that at $15k they didn't ask me.

They require 1 photo, I had a talk with them to clear somethings up as I wasn't comfortable them listing my car as stock un modified as I have $11k in modifications. He told me to send as many pictures as I have showing modifications so there isn't a issue with replacement in the event it should be needed. So I sent pictures showing SuperHawk hood, S60 rear end, UMI upgrades, etc. Although it's covered for 15k that is a total loss if there was a wreck I wouldn't want a factory hood, #1 it wouldn't fit as I added the ram air lower tray but I already have one taking up space that I can't get rid of...I probably sent 10 photos
If it isn't much more to pay to increase the coverage annually, why would you only insure it for $15k if it is worth much more?
I was told by State Farm that the items I have on my car are covered as long as I can show them a receipt, which I have all of them. Like anything, things are prorated based on age.
I mean I could insure it for more but then you pay more and I was comfortable with 15k for now cause it is fairly close to what I have in it, $7k car, $11k in mods and when do you ever get 100% return on your auto from what you paid? When I dig into the motor eventually or the price of them start to go up I will definitely increase it.
Makes sense
Ours is not insured for anywhere near what we have into it. I think Hagerty would probably reject that number. :chuckles:
I guess I'd need to call and speak with them to determine pros over my current insurer. The way it was explained to me by my current insurance company was that if the car was ever stolen, aftermarket items on or in the car would be treated no different than if my home was broken into. How they determine that value is beyond me though. Need to review my policy.
it's all a racket. what they say and do are always different, just like politicians.
I pay $1200 a year via state farm for my WS6 full coverage. Tell me more about this collector insurance. Will they insure vehicles with liens? Could I still put 5,000+ miles on it?
Just bought TSP stainless 2"x3.5" headers, Katech belt tensioner, ls3 front accessories, 160 degree thermostat, and injector o-rings for my FAST. I need a crank pulley but I'm not sure if a UD pulley is worth it and which ones are good and not crazy expensive for the ls3.

I am leaving right now to drop off my car to get the exhaust "de-rattled", and dyno tuned for all of the mods (it is running a bit rich).
Wow I pay $900 for my corvette, my truck, my wife's car, and my trans am with full coverage on everything and $500 deductible from USAA with everything as a daily driver. That drops quite a bit now I don't drive my TA much.

No it doesn't matter I have multiple drivers on my policy. They are all covered as daily drivers.

Got the WS6 back from the dyno-tuning today...
They dyno is a Dyno Dynamics unit. The yellow curves are hard to see, it figures they would be the final numbers.
Final numbers are 356.7 HP @ 5,650 rpm and 360.5 ft/lbs. Torque @ 4,850 rpm.
I think that is pretty good for a 144k car with just an SLP Air Lid and Smooth Bellows, Kooks emissions LT's and catted Y, and a Magnaflow cat back.
Attachment 26574
That gives me a real good idea of where our car would be as I am running all the same stuff, sans the smooth bellows and M6.
