Not pseudo, SUDO is a Linux/Unix/Mac OS command line utiity.

It basically means Super User Do.

When you try to do something on the machine at the command line level, sudo performs the command at elevated administrator rights, or Super User level.

Hence the wife saying no, then when sudo is used immediately saying OK.
