Good idea. And yes, i am on stock manifolds and ls1 intake. Hopefully not too much longer though.$

If i was you, i wouldnt even get a cam and look to spending that $ elsewhere. U will need a new cam,springs and pushrods at the very least. Possibly a new oil pump and timing chain as well. Are u gonna do the work urself or ask a shop to do it? For roughley a thousand dollars (give or take) ur gaining a max of 34whp?? Is that worth it? By the time ur said with it and all, ur gonna want to go bigger and bigger. I dont know any1 that has a cam w/o headers and exhaust. Those two are almost a must, u might be able to get by w/o and intake,tb,lid etc... I say save the $ and put a small shot of juice in it, maybe a 100 shot or so. But to each his own i suppose
My friend wanted to see how much of a differance headers adds to a cammed LS1. So he put a cam into his 02 SS with all the bolt ons minus headers. Car laid down 366 on the dyno. A week or two later we installed QTP's with the Q tech y pipe and retuned it and made 404.
