hmmmmmm idk wtf that is. what kind of setup is on the car ???
it is Flowmaster american thunder with those tips everyone i have talked to dont know what they are
Right now I have a 2 3/4 in magnaflow system, but I just got the flowmaster american thunder 3 in system and hope to get it on in the next couple of weeks. I don't have any headers, but I do want to replace the left pipe that is "squeezed-to fit" with a regular round 3 in pipe. Has anyone done that, and is there a clearance issue? Thanks.
I would assume you are talking about the driverside part of the Y-pipe.
Probably 3 ways to go about that. SLP makes a new Y-pipe that bolts to the factory exhaust manifolds that eliminates that flat section,,,and it's made of 2 1/2 inch pipe,,,,,just a heads up,,,there is no performance improvements,,,I tried it,,,and got nothing.
You could have an exhaust shop cut that section off and bend/weld a new piece in,,,,probably your cheapest way to go.
You could wait and go with some longtube headers and off road Y-pipe. If emissions aren't a concern and longtube headers are in the future for you,,,I would suggest this route, the headers will give you a little boost in HP and you get rid of the Y-pipe all in one shot.
Yes it does cause some clearance issues,,,,it's flat for a reason. With a round pipe it will have to hang a little lower, and may or may not be more visable from the side of the car. Hope that helps.
ive got a flowmaster 40 series with ORY, and Pacesetter LT's, nice grumble at idle and cruise speeds , then ear shattering at WOT
I have true dual 3" X dumped with Edelbrock mufflers
I have pacesetter LT's, ORY, and some sort of Flowmaster catback that came with the car.
i've had flowmaster american thunder, spintech, magnaflow, loudmouth, magnamouth, and the stock ws6 exhaust. magnaflow is nice with the lt's and ory. Im not big on the super loud so you cant hear anything when driving.
I have hooker lts, ory, and borla adjustable with an electric cutout in place of the plates
Pacesetter LT/ORY I was very impressed with the headers but EXREMELY dissapointed with the cranftsmanship of the Y-pipe... and Corsa Cat-Back... :D
