Mine was too, but like my previous post, if you don't have the NW9 RPO code I don't think the car has all the necessary hardware, even though it is wired for it. you do have an 02, but i doubt it's changed. best bet is to find someone with the ASR switch, and plug it into your car and see..
Im a ls1 with an auto. I see where it would be

This thread just won't die...
And for the life of me I can't figure out why anyone would need ASR to begin with. My ASR is my right foot...
I just learn something from this old old post.. Wow and yes this is my first post as I just got my first Z28
So, what did you learn?
And Congratulations on getting a Z28. Regarding 4th gens, I've had a 96 Z28 Vert and a 98 Z28 besides the 2002 Z28 I still have. FWIW, I sold the 98 with 189,xxx miles on it and it still got rubber in 2nd (about 2 car lengths when I kept my foot in it) and 3rd (it was a 6 speed). I won't go into the 3rd and 1st gens I've owned through the decades...
I learned what that button (asr) is for and why all the feedback on the gas pedal of course! I am very impressed with this 98 Z28 I bought it from the original owner with 124,000 on it and never been messed with. they sold it because the fuel pump went bad and her husband took out the gas tank and never put it back in after a year and a half seating in their driveway they figured it was time to sell so for 2K I picked it up. I put in a 2000 plastic gas tank and pump and away I went in my T-top Hot Rod.
Quite the bargain :)
