WS7 WTF is that?????
WS7 is a base t/a that the owner buys aftermarket parts to have the car be in essence a ws6
Thanks
What parts make a T/A a WS6? and what is the overall difference?
James
well you have suspension upgrades..shocks and a believe a larger sway bar...you have 17" rims instead of the 16....the hood and the raised air box....the rear gearing must be maxed out..so 3.23 for a4 and then 3.XX for m6s...badges ...and exhaust. thats about it.
A WS7 is basically a conversion don by Suncoast Creations in Bradenton, FL. They design what was called the "Raptor" hoods that resembled the SLP hoods. The Raptor hoods had what was called "true ram air" which was more like the original WS6 hoods in the earlier gen. Firebirds. The Raptor hoods also had heat extractor vents in the rear of the hood. I had WS7 #2 which was my 1998 Firebird T/A that was featured in GM High-Tech Performance Mag. in July of '99.
I have a non Ws6 Trans am with the WS9 and the Y82 codes. I have an aftermarket ram air hood, Im going to put aftermarket exhaust on it. What can be done to the suspension and the rest of the car to make it like a WS6?
why make a WS6 when you can make something better? I have a Base TA but heres my checklist:
Ram Air Hood done
Cold Air Intake Box
Adjustalbe coils
Better shocks
Better control arms
thicker bushings
18inch black wheels
and a WS7 or WS9 badge havent decided yet.
and the swaybar
the ws6 had the crapy ass orange shocks and black springs the slp firehawk had the bilstine shocks. the ws6 also has a power steering cooler.
why would you need a powersteering cooler for?
The ws6 has 275/40/zr17 in the front and rear. durring hard driving, such as an auto cross the power steering fluid gets really hot. The wider rubber puts a real strain on the power steering pump and oil. the cooler keeps the temps lower to keep the car easyer to steer.
Drivers door and/or the glove box.
