ok so the advantages of having 323 over 342 and why???
you probably dont have the 3.42s. you'll accelerate faster with a higher number gear ratio. for instance....i have 3.42s in my 6 speed. i want 4.10s because it will increase the torque out put and i will accelerate faster, as in the revs will climb quicker.
the question you should be asking is.....
who has a 3200 stall and 3.73s for sale?
so if ss is a performance pack why would they go with 323 instead of the 342
here, check your door codes for one of the following and this will answer your question...
Door Code Breakdown:
GU1 : AXLE REAR, 2.41 RATIO
GU2 : AXLE REAR, 2.73 RATIO
GU4 : AXLE REAR, 3.08 RATIO
GU5 : AXLE REAR, 3.23 RATIO
GU6 : AXLE REAR, 3.42 RATIO
also, SGS is correct. for A4's, they came from the factory with 2.73's in the rear. however you could order the performance ratio which for an A4 was 3.23's. only M6 cars made it out of the factory with 3.42's. although, some M6 cars could be ordered with Auburn carrier and 3.73's...
however, i cannot confirm if the SS only A4's came factory with 3.23's. that's what the door codes are for...
here is the source from which i pulled the codes. wish you boys would do some internet search cause it takes a freakin long time to find this shit. so when i do, i bookmark the bastards...:D
