My condolences to you and your family Scott. :(
Thought I already posted this but
Thanks all for the condolences.
Wife's been talking about maybe getting another dog. Maybe a Husky. She wants one the same size as Cici, not to big, not to small.
My concern about Huslys are the heat down here, but then again we kept Cici in the house all the time.
Condolences, Scott
sorry to hear about your dog. I would imagine someone got the collar to try and contact you would be my guess. We used to buy those engraved tags with our number and all that on it. Not sure anyone would really call your vet but maybe on your next dog you should put your number on it. I don't do that with chunk because if he gets out in the road and gets hit I'd rather the person didn't know the 175# dog that destroyed their car belongs to me. :D It's not like the phone call would've made much difference at that point but if she stopped at someone's house they may have called. I've found dogs roaming here that had tags with info and I'll chain them up and call their owners. Did that 2 or 3 times the last few years.
Thx Orion, the tags did have a number plus she was microchip to
the micro chip thing, at least to me, is a waste. If I find a dog the last thing I'm going to do is try to figure out if it has a chip and what that chip says. They either have tags or I let them walk. In the city this might be different but I still feel most people aren't really going to go out of their way to much to locate a dogs owner. The easier you can make it for someone the better.
The chip is for the humane society. When you take the dog in, they scan it for a chip to determine who the owner is.
