Lol I think this thread has brought out the softer side of ls1.com. I was honestly waiting for all the don't do its and pre-nup and marrige bashing to come out but ls1.com has apparently gotten soft over the years.

Hahaha, leave it to you to throw out the Carlisle invites.
Shameless promotion my friend.
Haha... y'all make me feel like an asshole now. My wife didn't get anything special. I just looked at her and said "You sure you wanna do this?" .... suprisingly she is still here 9 years later.
Congratulations. I asked my wife outside a restaurant while we were waiting for my mom to show up. I basically asked her if she wanted some exciting news to tell my Mom, she said yes, and then I handed her the ring and popped the question. I figured I had better get her to say yes first so I didn't have to sweat it out. It is now 21 years later and the best decision I ever made. Good luck to you both. :)
Thanks for all the good wishes guys its much appreciated. Only about 10 more days. Perhaps a bit old fashioned or out dated but I still need to talk to her dad aka ask permission. Any suggestions?
i asked her mom first, then got her to set up a lunch date with me, her, and her husband.....worked for me
And just cause I'm excited here's a quick pic of the front of the house.

I asked my gf's father also. I just asked him if he had some time to talk in private and we walked outside. She wasn't around. To sum it up, I just told him how I felt about his daughter and that I'd like his permission to ask her to marry me. Threw in a few choice positive words about her and her family and sealed the deal.
12 months later I broke her heart by dumping her and kicking her out of my house 4 months before the wedding.
Good luck
Sent her dad a text about coming over to talk a few days before I asked her. Finally had a chance to talk to her folks alone. Went over eventually got over my nerves and said I was gonna propose and hoping for your approval. I think I was more nervous talking to her folks than the actual proposal :lmao:
Don't put her name on the deed unless you are married.
