You guys are insane if you think a c5 with 120k miles should be 7,300. There are camaros and trans ams going for 7,000 with that many miles on them.

^ yea but that IS a 1997. Even a 99 will fetch more $ even with more miles. It is the refinement factor over the years. It prolly has no HUD which was stock in 04, along with all the other goodies and gadgets that kept showin up over the years.
A good place to roam is http://www.jaxed.com/cgi-bin/mash.cg...mit=++++go++++
The site you posted up the cheapest c5 on there is 10,000.00. On the first 5 pages anyway. The 2nd cheapest starts at 11,990. Most of the 97s are 12,500 and up.
you just need to look harder. i am looking just about everyday. now right now with spring/ summer is here they are more look in oct/ nov and see the prices. there was an 99 ws6 vert with 181k miles on it and sold for 4200 about two weeks ago on ebay. needed some work but cheap. i'm sure that vette price was priced to move. when i find some deals i'll pm you. tell me what you are looking for and your price range.
I am not looking, i just bought a 97 vette. But we were talking about vettes not T/As. You posted up a site and said the vettes are going cheap and 7,300 is a good price for a 97. But in the first 5 pages there are no vettes under 9,990 so idk what you are talking about. The 7,300 dollar vette was discovered to be a fake scammer post.
Don't give up guys, I just picked up a 2001 C5 coupe with every option but
FE3 for $7k. Granted it has 163k on it and had put $500+ just in parts to get it back in good condition but it has never been in an accident and the interior was perfect. So, good deals are out there just keep your eyes and ears open and have a knowledgable corvette person look it over before you buy.
I was on the track with one of those behind me in my 2010 GS Vette at Laguna Seca and it had no problem keeping up. Ofcouse it had an LS3 also and the plate read 60in3, I'm sure it would do it too. I don't think I could do that to one of my Vettes unless it got wrecked. Salvage auction is the way to go, iaai.com is where I got the 2000 SS camaro I used for my LS1 swap.

On another note, these damn fbody owners asking 16-20k for their cars are killing me. I know they are becoming rare but come on...
