ok cool yeah im going to get the flowmaster 10 series to replace my 44 it sounds ok but kinda like tingy sounding when it has a load on it
I guess I got lucky with my poly mounts. I didnt remove the pedestals and they aligned perfectly.
i used prothane mounts, but i had to split the clamshell and install em....some places sell the whole mount...but that shit is more expensive.
Make sure you mark the two halves of the clamshell so you put them back together correctly. My mounts were so dryrotted that after splitting them the rubber fell out. Sjsingle1 has some great pics in his thread: http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=133419

nobody wants a flat mount bouncing around in the clamshell
chances are, most people's stock mounts look like this, even when they say "oh theyre still good, no need to replace".
A good tip that I figured out when I was changing mine...
I had a whale of a time trying to get the big long bolts back through. The motor had to be twisted some to get them to line up right. Rather than prying, I took a ratchet strap and hooked to a point on the motor and then to another point on the frame and just kept ratcheting unti I got them to slip right in. It sure made it easy to do it myself with just the two hands i had on me.
