Correct. The cover that the seal mounts into is bolted to both the block and oil pan. I believe it has to be centered on the crank to ensure a proper seal. If I remember, I can check my books this evening and post up what I find.

Ordered parts from GMPartsDirect :faint: My wife wants to :tap: Told me that was my anniversary and B-day present. Told her the shop was going to pay for them, she didn't care.

I just hope the bell housing isn't on back order. Tick had it for $190 but told me it would be up to 4 weeks before they could ship it. :wtf:

That really sucks that you have to go over this because of some dumb$$$ that do a 1/2 $$$ job. That's why I do almost myself. I only have 1 mechanic that I trust and it takes me alot of trying before I take the car to him. Can trust nobody these days except the ppl in LS1.com! :)
