the school district does not agree with the principal who sent them home.
a couple of the kids are half mexican and still wore the attire.
this is the United States and my beloved banner is red, white, and blue and a school district can fuck itself square in it's own ass if it thinks that just because it's a mexican/latin american holiday that the wearing of anything that does not represent that holiday is wrong. the kids wore what they wanted to that day for whatever reason it doesn't matter. the administration had no right to tell them to take the clothes off or to send them home. they were not causing a disturbance or doing anything wrong.
in fact...the only thing more wrong about sending the kids home is that the flag of the US is being used as an advertisement to sell clothing. flag code says that the flag should not be placed on clothing or on disposable items such as cups or napkins. i cringed at the sight of the kids flag pants...i mean really...he's farting and sitting on my beautiful banner all damned day. and the other kid is standing on my flag all day. THAT'S wrong. the t-shirt of the flag itself is considerably less offensive to me but still technically wrong.
all said though the actions of the school administration should be punished for their un-american actions just because they considered it threatening to public safety. well guess what. you don't walk into a bar as a cop and arrest a guy sitting at the bar holding keys ordering a beer on the offhand chance that he MIGHT chug it quick and hop in his car.
