with 275/40s you wont have to do anything. except the bump stop.

did ya have to grind the bump stop or remove it? I'd kinda like to keep it on the car, but does it really matter? I dont race my car at all, but who knows someday I might want to for the heck of it.
I really doubt you'll have to do any grinding with the 275/40/17s on those wheels.
FYI, I would be careful parking close to any curbs with those tire on the wider wheels.
that'd be great if they slip right on there.:)
the tires are in k.c. this morning so hopefully I will get them today. with any luck I might have everthing done tonight. if I find I have alot more room to spare under there. I might put the 245s up on craigs list.
yep, the metal of the bracket was not actually hitting anything but it was way too close to leave go. i dont think there would be very tight mfr. tolerances on this part of the car not to have a considerable difference from one to the other. just my guess. and we're only talking about a piece of sheetmetal sticking out to mount a piece of rubber to.
My TTM's 17x10.5" fit w/ absolutely no rubbing or fitment issues...you'll be fine. I also had TTII's before at 17x11" and they fit fine also.
i should clarify something, i didnt have any parts in contact with any other parts, the clearance was tight enough that i felt better getting the bump stop out of the way considering potential suspension travel etc. had i not done anything i might not have any trouble anyway, but my clearance was close enough that i would advise checking things closely before getting on the road with your new wheels.:drivin:
These are the reasons I went with 17x9 TTMs on all 4's with Nitto 555 275/40/17's.
For me-they are plenty wide enough.
The 315's on the rear do look badass though!

got the wheels on last week but had to leave town the next day. everything went well. no rubbing issues at all. the bump stops are close when the suspension rebounds. I jacked it up and put jackstands under the car then lowered the rear axle. the bump stops were about 1/2 inch from the wheels on each side. I did the jump up and down in the hatch test too. I think I can go wider with the tires though. for now it'll do good. I'm pretty happy with them. now I have another problem. my clutch pedal got stuck halfway to the floor a couple of times the last 2 days I drove it. the fluid is dark and from what I,ve read on this site I might be looking at replacing the slave cylinder and while I'm there a new clutch. darn, I'll just have to upgrade it.
Thanks to all for the advise on the wheels.
I'll post some better pics in the next few days.
bumppppppppppppp

heres an update. been awhile I know! lol. I stayed with the same size tires.Still no problems with them and they hook pretty good.
315's are in the future but I have other things that need attention. I need to do something with the calipers. Right now i'm thinkin polishing them would look the best.
hmmm. For some reason the link didnt take. If you click on the old one it shows a couple of better pics.
