this is the kind of shit a lawyer knows and why you pay them to get you out of tickets. I forget the actual saying but it's something like " only a fool of a client has himself as a lawyer". Something to that effect.

so let's say you're having a really "unlucky" month and you get a judge having a bad day. You could be looking at 90 days and $1000 where as a lawyer will probably get that thrown out altogether and you'll pay him and a fine for the other stuff. Probably would never get the max but that's not something I would gamble on.
