I wouldn't.....I'd just toss them in. It'd kinda be like chicken pot pie meets chicken and dumplin's. :D
Basically yes thats how it turned out :lmao: I thought I was missin' somethin. Its been so damn long since ive had ANY chicken and dumplings that i forgot how it was supposed to be. Turned out good nonetheless. Definitely doing my own dumplings next time though, the biscuits are good but they just taste like soggy bread.
my mom used bisquits and that's why I put some in mine.....they add their own bit of flavor to it. The trick she always said was to buy the cheapest bisquits you can find.....not the fancy flaky kind. Just regular ole cheap bisquits so that's what I do. She also rolled hers out with a pin and then cut them into strips. I never liked them that thin so I started just taking my hand and just kinda mashing them down and then I cut them into 3's. Something I left out on the drop bisquits was salt and pepper. I put quite a bit of salt and pepper into the flour before adding the egg and broth. I like pepper....maybe not quite as much as you do though and that's saying a lot. :D Dumplin's, while smelling completely like shit, always taste better on day 2 when they've had a chance to sit in the broth and suck up flavor. I also think you should switch over to thighs instead of breasts for the fat content unless you're trying to keep them on the healthy side.
I actually trimmed the breasts to remove even more fat, then added them to 2 cans of cream of chicken and 2 cans of broth. I figured that was enough fat. I do agree though, bone-in cuts would add more juice and flavor.
The wife just informed me that this is good Dumpling weather. So this is how I make mine quick, easy and good.
I use either bonless/ skinless chicken thighs or trim the skin off of drum sticks. Cover them with water and boil till done. Save the water/ broth that they cooked in. Pull the meat apart and put it back in the water/ broth. Cut flour tortillas in strips add them to the broth. They will swell up so dont go over board unless you like it heavy on the dumplings. Add milk and black pepper. Let it simmer for a while then eat.
mexi-dumplins
since i'm from texas it would be tex-i not mexi :yum:
Close enough to mexi lmao. Sounds good though. Easy for sure. Im guessing home-made flour tortillas?

Overdid it again with the hot stuff  Little spicier than I like it, but good nonetheless. About 2lbs of ground meat, black beans, chili beans, pork n beans, onions peppers and garlic. Tons of spices and stuff. Lots of gas!
Dammit Zach, now I want chili!
Make some?
Eh, the wifey will have dinner ready when I get home. She did make unstuffed pepper soup last night. Was pretty good.
so i picked up some beef tenderloin this evening at the store. the fiance and i are trying to do more cooking at home so i said...hey...i can probably cook that.
i don't have a grill...i have an electric oven with a broiler. i love tenderloin steak cooked medium while she likes it well done.
what tips, suggestions, recipes, etc do you guys have for me to cook up the best steak that i can with my electric stove. i'm assuming i'm going to have to marinade overnite, sear the outside in a hot pan and then finish off with the broiler. that's about all that i know though.
Tell her to toss her's in the microwave for 1:20 to achieve 'well done'.
That's all I got.
