Been testing Oil

Update.....

2005 Lexus ES330:

Engine starts much quicker, better throttle response, idles smooth and quiet. ( like a kitten peeing on cotton.) No noticeable difference in gas mileage.

2006 Pontiac GTO:

Same performance benefits observed with the Lexus, however I have seen a decrease in gas mileage. Before testing I was getting about 15mpg city. Now I am getting 13mpg. Still can't figure this one out yet. I think I may have over treated the GTO so I am thinning this tank out with more gas to see if the mpg number goes back up.

This might be a stupid question but after reading this entire thread I was wondering what Sarge and the rest of you guys think. Is synthetic TC-W3 recommended over the non syn., or is there no advantage to the more expensive synthetic. My daily driver 96 escort with over 200k on the clock gets cheap quick-lube oil in it. My 99 ss with 79k on the odometer has been getting castrol syn-tech. Because I own an outboard (boat) motor I always have on hand TC-W3 oil. Currently I have both Synthetic and non syn. TC-W3 on hand. I've been adding the non syn. stuff to my escort for the last couple of tanks at the prescribed amount (1oz. to 5gal.) , it seems to run a little smoother but other than that I have not noticed any difference yet. I put the synthetic stuff in the camaro but have not put enough miles on it to see any change, benefit.

Conventional 2stroke is fine...as long as it is TC W3 rated you are good. I run conventional Valvoline or Pennzoil 2stroke TC W3 rated oil.

Well i finally went to wal mart and picked up a gallon of this stuff and put it in, and let me tell you, i noticed a difference almost immediately. Im the kind of guy that drives around with my radio off 80% of the time just listening to my car. (Out of both enjoyment and shear paranoia) I like to be on top of my things and am extremely picky about my vehicles and am a firm believer in preventative maintenence. Also very minor things that people take for granted or just dont pay attention too... i notice.

So even the smallest changes to my car, i notice instantly. And just to make sure i wasnt full of it, my buddy and i were cruising in my car, and without me telling him what i did, he was commenting to me on how smooth the car felt, (as far as idling and accel.). So that proved to me that it actually did make a difference, and it wasnt just me. I noticed smoother idleing, and the motor just seemed to run smoother. Very slight vibrations i used to feel in my seat while at a light idling are now gone. You cant even tell the car is running almost.

In my opinion this is what hot rodding is truley about, this is the kind of stuff they dont teach you at school, but i love learning about none the less. I want to give a big thanks to Sarge for bringing this to light, hopefully when i have more experience in this field i can be experimenting with shit like this, cause this is what i truley love doing. As soon as i run through more tank fulls of this stuff, ill be reporting back to let you know if my mpg's go up as well. And one more thing, i have a question for you Sarge, please forgive me if it has already been asked, but since this oil is picking up all the shit out of our tanks and burning it, should we have to change our fuel filters more often? Also, is there any brand of gasoline that you recomend that is better than others? I keep to the name brand stations, and always use 93, but is there one in particular that dosent have as much "stuff" in it per say? Thanks again, and sorry for the long post...:blah:

Hey man...thanks for the post.....I live off real world experiences.....cuts through the shit so to speak....yeah I stick with Shell/Texaco/Exxon/Chevron....no doubt the cheaper brands do not utilize the add packs in their gas.....as for the fuel filter changing....man I really would advise all/anybody to change their fuel filter every 15,000 miles or one year....just preventative maintenance.....for those that have the filter in the tank don't worry about it.....as for this fuel treatment causing excessive "stuff" being introduced to the fuel system.....haven't seen a single instance of it.....frankly I know of no reason for anything large enough to cause any damage/negative effect to be "let loose" into the system by using this fuel treatment....if something that large or in that mass was in there to begin with it was going to screw you anyway.....thanks again....

Just to report out on my experience with this fuel 'additive', I have been adding it to my 2007 Trailblazer and have improved the mileage 1-2 mpg. During city driving it went from 15 to 16.5 and while towing my 6000 lb. boat it went from 10.5 to 13.5! WOW, what a difference.

On my GTO, I recently got 23 MPG on the highway! A new record for me....was 20 MPG best case.

I also use it on my boat (23' Searay) with a 5.7L MPFI Mag. and it increased the top speed by 1 MPH on GPS!

Yup....I now have well over 35,000 (multiple personal cars) I have been doing this with and have zero negatives. I pulled the plugs again on the Goat....pristine......my 07 Silverado/04GTO/05 Mercedes/06 G6 all start quicker/idle/run smoother and all get an average of 2mpg better gas mileage. This is a keeper......thank you folks for participating.....lets keep hearing any and all results.

Well first off props go to Sarge for the OP. I bet a good number of us here never would have thought of or considered doing this without this post. My father drove his '98 (possibly 99) Grand Caravan with 130K+ from RI to VT, NH, and Maine over this past weekend, and reported getting 25mpg with a full load of camping gear plus 3 other passengers. He's been treating the van for the past 2 weeks (2400 miles) and before he started, he was averaging 19 mpg driving alone with about 50 extra pounds of load. The van, which I used to drive to high school, is running better now than it was 6 years ago.

Ive only done about 2 fill-ups with the oil (and gas, obviously) in the GTO, but im noticing around a .7 mpg increase on the usual highway ride to work. Not expecting much from the GTO, since it only had 20K when I started, but I look forward to less hassle maintaining it down the road. :cheers:

I am about half a tank through my 2nd treatment and have noticed no negatives at all. I am very picky about my vehicles and their performance so the slightest vibration or something off (like mgp) I notice quite quickly. I am going to hold off commenting on the positives until I have a few more tanks through the truck. I am not expecting a huge improvement since my Silverado just cracked 14k but we'll see. The fiance's '05 Ford Escape (had it before I met her) will be the next test mule and should hopefully showcase improvement much better.

Another update. Friend bought a 500 dollar beater exploder a few months ago with now over 225k. Hes had a dead miss at 35mph-55mph for about two weeks now and I slipped some oil in on him and two days later he asks me "Did you fuck with my truck 'cuz that missfire stopped, what did you do"

All the old strippers who worked there probably have boobs that sag to the ground today :) Been awhile....I am the most skeptical human on the planet....that is why I test and document....everything from Radar Detectors/Oil/Power adders etc. I will tell you I am convinced this fuel treatment solution is all positives and no negatives and goes into my "it works" category. Only question that remains is the dosage. Seems different cars have different sweet spots. So far though 500:1/400:1 appears to be the 'general" sweet spot....

How well does the oil mix with gas? Just curious if larger tanks (my silverado has a 26gal vs my wifes 15gal'ish) which obviously would have more of the tc-w3, would be running through the motor the like on a smaller tank.

Most of the machines that the oil is designed for have smaller tanks which are constantly run through.

I think it wouldnt matter becuase the fuel sloshes around enough that it will keep it dispersed well enough...

Sarge you mentioned radar detectors, whats your fav, and whats the scoop on your testing?

I took a 5 oz beaker and filled with gas and put a drop of 2stroke in it.....it disperses almost instantly.

I removed the oil injection tank off my boat and just pre-mixed. It was a Bullet 21xd w/ a 225 promax and a 36 gallon gas tank. I mixed 50:1. Not a problem ever noted. I also know A LOT of guys that have done this exact same thing w/ their motors. I only ever turned mine about 6400 rpms. I know guys doing this that turn there's anywhere from 7000 all the way up to 10,000rpms.

Thanks. I figured as much but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. Started putting tc-w3 in my truck back when this thread started (177K) and sofar no negatives.

Yo Sarge, I went to my local Auto Zone and i found a Pennzoil Marine Premium Plus. It is TC-W3, 2 Cycle but it says OUTBOARD ENGINE OIL..is this oil the CORRECT one..And also, i wanted to clean out my fuel system professionally, should i try this oil first to clean out the fuel system??

i think i used the wrong one..i put outboard!!is this bad please someone help!!!!!
