COMPLETE REDO of PCV System(pics writeup)

Finally ripped out ALL of the pcv lines on my 98. If you guys dont already know the 98s have a really gay location for the pcv system and can be affected by heat more easily. I ripped everybit of the old lines off. I mean everything.. Ill take more pics of the aftermath in daylight tommorow and edit this, essentially you unplug everything and rip it out..

I bought...

5 foot of 3/8 fuel line/emissions hose.
new style pcv valve (1009 part number.. at otterzone)
3/8 T line fitting
1/2 to 3/8 air line adapter
Heater hose(for pcv valve/ air line adapter)
Clamps

Thanks for writing this up, I am replacing all my PCV lines and got confused for a second

Its a little more trouble, but the LS6 Valley cover is a VERY good way to go.

I have no oil what so ever in my setup. frikin wierd. WOT daily.. maybe its a 98 valve cover thing?

I am in the process of replacing the PCV hoses on a 2002. I can't get my hands to the back of the intake manifold to attach the other side of the hose. The PCV valve to TB is fine, and a new hose runs towards the back on the pass side then disappears. A friend said he got the other side in, but the car miss fires now. WTF? Do I need to take some parts out of the way? How the f*** do you get to it?????????

Any one have a diagram(or pics?)of where each hose and PCV line goes to? There are 3 connections on valve covers, 2 connections on throttle body, and a line that runs from the back of the intake to PCV valve. I'd like to punch the engineer (that designed this mess) until he was a bloody pulp. The dealership wants to charge me $75 for the PCV line. It was so brittle it started to break, I replaced it with a hose. This Chilton service manual is useless. Thank God for this Web site, about 99% of my repair knowledge came from here! I believe I have a vacuum leak somewhere, I keep getting a PO300 code and the engine misses. Replaced plugs, wires, fuel filter etc. months ago.

Start ripping out the lines. Everything you need is posted above. The lines from both valve covers merge into one then go to the TB.

No way I can get my hands behind there to get to the lines. Any idea what the dealership will take me for? Thanks.

Here's a pic for you. The end of the pipe at the top of the pic goes to the back of the left valve cover.

Nice job! Except for that picture of the brass T; you should have turned it to show the other side that shows the "M" logo instead of the side that shows "CHINA"....aaarrrgggh!

Okay, now I'm lost again?

Also I have an 02 and the driver side valve cover has a lot more stuff from the AIR etc...
