haven't tried it but i know a guy that uses a similar setup on a v6 camry. it's pretty sick for a camry. lol. i like the setup though. rear mount makes sense to me.
There are a few guys locally that have them one an LT1 and another an LS1.
I like the setup but wonder how good it is during rain considering the Airfilter is behind the left rear tire.
Junk
A total piece of junk!!! Read the boards and you'll find plenty that should keep you away from them! I've seen them first hand and will NEVER install another one. You may as well just give your money away.
From everything I've heard from performance shops, they're good for toys. That's it. Not worth it if your wanting serious power.
Hey thanks for the input guy's, I was kind of wondering how the elements would effect the performance of an under chassis mounted turbo. To be honest I'm 47 yrs old and I've been driving T/A's since my first 1 in 1970 (god I wish I had that car still) and my 98 ls1 6spd is 1 of the best ever.
I have ran a 13.05 1/4 mile twice @ our local track (byron IL.) All I have done to this car is a 3 inch single exhaust dumping into a single in dual out flowmaster and this car sounds awesome, even the pony boy's are impressed, I also did a few free mods and a K & M air filter.
I must admit each time I've ran those times it was a cool cloudy Fall day.
But I always run the mid 13"s
$6100.00 ??? wow...what happened to the days it used to cost $3700?? lol. for another $400 bucks you can have yourself an APS twin turbo system.
6100 for an unsafe turbo system? ha ha
for that amount you can get a nice set of Heads and a good Cam ~3000 for a kit
Full Exhaust or Nitrous ~1500
Fast Intake~900
you can use the rest of it for a tune it will put you around 500-600 RWHP
the sts would take alot of extra work to make it reliable. I have seen a few good setups, but they pretty much took what they got from sts and customized a bunch of stuff......aps is where it is at, i started my build a couple of weeks ago
