I think what you are looking for is an automatic with a manual valve body... I think...
to answer your question its not like can take an automatic and put a clutch and a shifter on it and its a manual....
I beleive there are valve bodies that will allow you to force an automatic to stay in a gear and not shift unless you tell it to, but would still be nothing like a true manual...

There is multiple threads about this conversion.
If you have a m6 and want to go to an a4 your going to have to get the harness, and a different crossmember plus the tranny plus tune your car.
Its a lot more complicated to go to a m6 than an a4.

Well the thing is i hate the m6 i would just reather have an auto . Thought about going to a th400 but would like to keep some type overdrive thats why i am looking into a factory type swap.
best way to swap m6 to auto.......is to swap cars or sell your and buy a auto. 3k is alot of cash that could go into alot better things
