Will a hypertech tuner 3 for a 99 z work on a 98 z? I found one for 100.00, new in box, never used, but i need to know if itr will work on my 98. I put headers and y on my 98 z and the engiine light is on, and it seems to be hesitating at low rpms. Will the hypertech cure this? Thanks in advance...
the hypertech wont cure that and usually doesnt help anything..i would stay away from handheld tuners imo and someone else will definitely kno this, but i am almost positive it will not work because the 98 computers are so much different than all the other years
yeah i have 98z28 and looked it up myself the only thing you can do is hp tuners no other prgrammers for it
I do mail order tuning for 98s.
It will fix your SES light for the systems that were removed and remap your fuel and spark curves to better take advantage of those headers and any other mods that you have made. It will also eliminate skip-shift in manual trans cars and the tuning for automatics delivers big gains.
Unlike a handheld, this is specific to your car also.

Hypertech makes a different version for the 98's. I got one just to recalibrate my speedo for the gear change and change the cooling fan operating temps, but I don't need it anymore since I got a full tune. Shoot me a PM if you are interested in it.Quote:

vinci/crane have a handheld for the 98 vehicles as well, if you want a handheld.
