hey, im a noob here, just bought an 06 gto, im wondering if the car has an aftermarket exhaust on it, its alittle louder than "others" or i may bee crazzy,
But the car has 4" tips on it, wondering what size the "stock" ones are? the mufflers dont have a name on them, but its stainless. thanks, mike

4" is the O/D of the tips. . . . . . . . ? Is it a thick walled tip that has a rolled lip?
Post some pics and we will tell you quickly what you have.
yah thats what igot, i was pretty shure it was stock, whent to a car show with a got there, his was the same as mine,
i just didnt want to buy a cat back and take the one i have on there and find out thaat one was an aftermarket one,
now im just looking into which exhaust to get, thanks, mike
I like the sound of the 06's. I think if someone did headers and removed the cats that thing would sound pretty nasty.

I heard some clips of spintech's and they are sick sounding. I like those quite a bit too. I just think for a stock system the 06 is a pretty tough sounding exhaust to be bone stock. My bro took off out of here the other day and if I didn't know any better I'd say it was an aftermarket catback on it. I did notice the crackle in it but it wasn't overbearing I didn't think.Quote:

+1... I was next to a new 'vette last night at a stop light. He got the green first for a left turn, and I stuck my head out to listen to the exhaust and....nothing. I couldnt hear even a whisper off the vette over my GTO at idle. When he goosed it on the straightaway between some tall buildings, still nothing. The 06 GTO exhaust is nuts...

LOVE that exaust tone and when you are crusing at 70 mph you would sware that your in a BMW nice and quiet:haha:
