I am looking to buy a Camero and I was wondering what the differences were.
Nothing really.
Hood, spoiler, ram air.
SS's usually cost more.
Do you guys think it would be better getting a Z28 with less miles than an SS with more mile for the same price?
Depends on the diffrence in miles and condition of the car - I would get the cleaner one
Stock rims and tires are 17" for SS vs 16" for Z28. Different shocks were an option also. SS could also have different lid and exhaust depending on what was marked and what (if any) work SLP did to it.
Also, 2001 & 2002 LS1 cars (SS & Z28) have LS6 intake and better exhaust systems that 98-00.

If you plan to substantially modify it, get the Z28.
If I get the Z28 I would like to atleast get it to 360-380 HP.
In regards to the SS vs Z28 it's just a badge with about a 15 questionable hp difference. :givesaf: Alot of people online dispute that issue. I've looked around and I can only shake my head in confusion. I don't know who is right about the 15 hp. If you plan to park it in your garage and never drive it then you want an SS. That's the numero uno badge.
I was also looking at trans ams but i can get more for my money if i buy a camaro
no disrespect to the z28 guys but you will be happier if you get an SS.........when I am out and about the z28 guys drool when Black Betty rolls by.
I have never drooled over an ss over then the True 35th when i first saw it all i know is stock for stock my Z allways took every single ss i lined up against even a couple of slp ones and all i have is a K&N with some tunnin and a chip hell i dont even have the free mods done lol
i dont know only thing i like about the SS is the rear spoiler 17in rims just cost more and the hood weighs to much and not enough gain for me rather get a ram air style hood but thats just me
