how often should the rear end fluids be changed? and what type of oil do use?
GM limited slip additive and 2 quarts of a good 75w-90.
Every 25K miles or so would be a decent interval.
Yeah go with what Mr. Luos said. Although I thought you could go a lot longer than 25k miles
I think the recommended interval is 7000 miles if you can believe that.
wait mr.lous was that 25,000 or 2500 sorry was kinda confused. i figured 25,000 would be way too long. also where can i buy the gm limited slip fluid and what rear gasket and 75/90 oil do you guys recommend?
You can get the GM addative at the stealership or you can get pretty much its equivalent at Napa as well as the gasket, permatex sealant, 75/90 gear oil. I use Valvoline in mine.
For the stock rear end....and a mostly stock car.
Two quarts Mobil 1 75w-90 and GM additive from the stealership. Any gasket that will fit will do....with RTV (gasket maker) on it.

Use a good synthetic oil such as Royal Purple, Then you will not need the additive.
I do mine every spring when the car comes out of the storage unit. Mobil 1 75w90 and what ever LSD additive I can find at the parts store (usually kendal or atp.)
