Does anyone align your wheels yourself? Whats the correct way to check your alignment? Just one of thing I've never really done and wondered what all is involved? i feel like i should know this, but i just never worried about it much :chuckles: seems to me that it would be something easy to do yourself . . .
you will need some turnplates and a camber/castor gauge, among other things...

for the rear, you might get away with simply sliding plates, instead of rotating plates.
a 4-post lift is the ideal.
This is something i've been looking @, especially since i've got a 4-post lift in garage.
Its probablly easier to pay a shop $80 - $90 to do it :)
depends... I'm thinking it's worth for me to get the equipment, especially that I have the lift.
I've heard the first time takes a few hours, but after that, it goes by fast.
It's expensive to take the car to the track, do tests, take the data from pyrometer and lap times and so on and then pay for another alignment to do more tests... and so on.
I find that just changing tires model require a different alignment... depending on how picky you are.

pretty funny i posted this thread just because i was thinkin about it. . . but now after examining my car to figure out where road noise was coming from, I found that my wheel alignment is all out of wack. my front tires are wore bare on the inside and they have less than 10,000 miles on em!!
