So when you see one of these rolling down the road - whats your thought?
it makes me mad too!!
I say "potential" I have seen plenty of cars sitting out in a feild or driving down the road and said if it just ha da little tlc it would be a great car.:true:
Sometimes it's my car since mine is my DD and I don't have a garage. I do try to wash it and get it waxed frequently because I can't stand for it to stay dirty.
when i see a f-body all ragged out or one totaled on a rollback i think to myself how that just makes mine worth more in the long run.
I have two different feelings, you need to take car of your car or yes my car looks better than yours.
I say resto in progress, cuz that's what mine is...mine was pretty beat up when I got it, and still has a few dings, and it's my DD. But, I do wash it every week, and wax at least once a month...so I have to believe that other Camaro drivers are the same (except for V6 owners, I just don't care. I park beside them to make mine look even sexier :) )
First off..NO DISRESPECT to all the 3rd gen owners. But I see more of that gen Camaros on the road that are beaters simply due to the fact that they are gettin on in years, and are getting cheaper for a lot of people to purchase. Not being taken proper care of, bla bla bla. It saddens me that when I say I own a Camaro to people, I hope that that isn't what pops into their heads. We've all seen that one like the car down the street from me that is that base model Camaro (3rd gen) that's a off yellowish green color:Puke: and no one's washed it for 7 years, whats left of the paint is history, and you think to yourself, that was actually a brand new car one day, and had that new car smell and everything. Someone was proud of it, and showed it off to all their friends.
it makes me sorta sad
I'm gunna go jump off a bridge
I really don't give it a second thought, you can't tell how a car runs by it's appearance, and what really matters is the performance, not the look. There are plenty of people out there that don't care how their car looks as long as it runs strong.
If I saw a primered, dented up 3rd gen with a loud exhaust and fat rear tires it would probably draw my attention just as much as someones mint condition '02 SS. Maybe more so, you don't really know what's up with the 3rd gen, while the SS is probably exactly what it appears to be.
Just keep 'em alive, thats what I think. Just keep that girl on the road, someday she'll get what she deserves. My turd gen ended up going out in a blaze of glory. Her 305 wound up to 8500 rpm for about six months after the build, till it blew the tranny. Any money I had to fix the exterior went to the tranny, which I never could afford.
Still brings a tear to my eye to know she ended up in a pick and pull junk yard...
I think its a badge of honor to know that our cars can run till the wheels fall off.
hey man, i say everyone to his own. some guys dont care about what their car looks like. or maybe they dont got the $$ for all the body work. but damn, some of those cars with the sanded down, dented, and/or scratched paint make some mean ass sleepers.
so Who cares! At least mine looks good!
It kinda makes me sad seeing beat up camaros rolling down the street. Especially 4th gens...makes my heart ache.
I makes me more sad to see one riced out with gay graphics and 747 wings than it does to see one a little roughed up. Least the ones that are roughed up belong to someone whos driving it and cant afford to fix it properly. The others are morons who need to have their F-Body keys revoked and sat down into a civic or accord.
(end rant)
It makes me so aggrevated to see ratty fbods. Have some damn respect for the car-ESPECIALLY THE LATE 4TH GENS! I can't believe how people treat their cars.
White trash is the first thing that comes to mind usually. That shoulds kinda harsh but around here its true. Every time a see a beat up or just dirty camaro its white trash in it.
