Theres this kid around town that has an 01 TA. it was making a weird knockin noise someone told him he spun a rod bearing so he loaded it up and has been sittin for a couple months. he has never pulled the motor to see what s wrong with it he jus priced it to me for 300 comes with everything. computer, fuel pump water pump heads intake. headers. is it worth it?
Hell yeah it's worth it! Even if the block is completely trashed you could still part the thing out for way more than that. It's an 01 so the LS6 intake is worth $350 at least.... see, already made $50 and I see those heads going for in the neighborhood of $250 all the time.
I have a 4.3 vortec in my silverado i wanted to swap it for the ls1. do you all think it would work?
I don't know about that. I know it will fit but I'm sure it's not as easy as just swap and go...Quote:

It would be a hell of a hack job trying to piece the wiring harnesses together. In theory since most LS engines are the same externally I would venture a guess that the harness out of a V8 truck of comparable year would be an easier chore to adapt than patching a harness. 300 is definately worth it. Headers would probably even work in the truck.
