A waste of Money

Probably gonna get a lot of harrasment for this.. but back in my 16 year old ricers days I traded a POS Eclipse for a POS neon.. ive still got the neon.. Its super ricified and after wondering why it didnt run worth a damn I found out that it has no thermo, exhaust manifold gasket, intake gasket and a lot of other mods that just raped that little 4 banger.

I think im going to keep the outside riced out. Its got hand drawn flames and lots of primer and the typical ricer wing...

but heres the catch.. Ill be taking out the engine somtime this spring. Its just scrap aluminum... my bud is a mopar nut and ill probably have him help me get a 318 built and get drivetrain together.. I think you guys know where this is going...

You'd be better off tossing an old Turbo 2.2 or SRT-4 drivetrain in there. Actually, you're better off selling it & getting an SRT-4 if you want a Neon

I think it would be funny to have dual fart cans and then have a cutout.. lol Ive done some research and I dont think it has been done. I cant come up with a name for it tho.

Have fun turning a FWD car into a RWD car. I hope you know how to fabricate and weld cuz your gonna do alot of it.

Thats gonna be a shit load of fab work, and probably some one off custom ie expensive parts. This is if a v8 engine even fits in the engine bay. Depending on what yr the car is, its a cab forward design and those engine bays are CRAMPED! +1 on the srt4 swap if you are gonna swap engines.

Had a guy in town that did it to one of those 80s Chargers or Laser or something ... so it can be done..

you would be better off shooting it full of holes until it blows up - the comedic value of that will be greater than the resale value of the car after you piss away money on it

I wouldn't waste the money. It would involve more money and time than you would want to spend, use that money to mod your ls1. The 80s Chargers and Laser/Daytonas are completely different cars and have much larger engine bays than the Neon could even dream of. If you had one of those, a lot of time and money, then you could put a v8 in it, its been done quite a few times. My dad has one as a Outlaw 10.5 race car.
