I think it all depends on how much you are willing to spend on headers. If you want them to last longer than the car, most will recommend Kooks or QTP because they are stainless. If you are on a budget, most will suggest the coated Pacesetters. Hardly any difference in performance between the two, just the material and price.
yeah i guess im basiclally looking for performance without a big price. as long as they will last 50,000 or so miles and perform, thats all im looking for.
I've heard that pacesetters are a good bang 4 your buck header. Not bad, but not the best. You kinda get what you pay for there. Kooks and American racing are the best (IMO) but pricey.
pacesetters are a good budget buy I guess. But I do love my hookers!
What mods are done to the motor and car?
The Pacesetters are ok for mild motors. I would probably get them coated after you bought them which will aid in life and performance.

looking at getting a 228,112,588 cam and 32-3600 stall. Have 3.73 gears and ls6 intake, K&N intake, magnaflow exhaust. But i also want to know if there's an easy way to put headers on to my cat back system and remove the cats all togeather.
with all of this i was told i could make up to 420hp? and if so would the pacesetters be an alright choice if they were coated?
This is basicly all i want to do to my car. After that its basicly going to be fast enough to compete and beat most all the cars where im from. And i plan on saving up for a vette or build a car in the near future.
What do you think, is it going to have enough goodies to have fun with for now....?
i have hooker headers and offroad y pipe
i'll keep looking
Just get the Pacesetters. Everyone and their mom are running them and I never hear anyone bitch about them so they must be a good product. It's not like your gonna be making an all out race car so don't worry about what you should be getting so much. Your looking for good bang for the buck, well there it is. It's not a complicated question to answer. If you have a lot to spend, go Kooks, if not Pacesetter.
FWIW I just picked up a pair of Kooks 1 3/4 race style off ebay for 725 shipped through Maryland Speed. Seems like a really good deal to me...
How are hooker headers (coated)? Any negatives about them?
How does this deal look?

None that I'm aware of. I will say that the construction and welds are better than Pacesetter's.

The Super Comps also have the "Spear" collector.

Nice to see other people have Hooker headers. I love my Hookers and ORY also! I like they are a tuned length header (maybe worth a couple more HP). They fit great, I have the ceramic coated and they have been on for 18 months now. There is a little flaking off of the coating, mostly in high heat areas. They put me in the 12s at 109.89 with my street tires. I would like to get an LS6 intake, then get it tuned, then I will be done (at least for a year of two!). Gotta keep the gas mileage. Oh yeah, highway gas MPG is up almost 2 since the headers.
how was the install for these? I have a lift so would that make it easier?
Anyone heard of TTS Headers? I understand they don't make them anymore and were about 1250. ?
