C5 Corvette not really killed...
...but still a good race...
I took Nymphadora out for a short drive today around noon. I went out to I-95 and drove down to the Washington Beltway and back (about a 20 miles round trip). On the way back, I was sitting in the 2nd lane from the left and this C5 came up next to me in the fast lane. I look over (driver is probably in his mid 30s) and he's checking out my car. He looks up and sees that I caught him checking my baby out. He gives me a thumbs up, which I return. He then revs at me. I return the rev, and we exchange the 3 honks. I drop it into 4th (we're going about 80 already), and we're off up the highway. We took it up to about 140 before I let off (it was weird cause he seemed to let off at the exact same moment). Man, neither of us could pull away from the other, we were perfectly evenly matched. I was sure that I would take him once I was in the top end of 4th, but no dice. We cruised till my exit came up. We waved to eachother as he continued up towards Baltimore.
I love races like this, two cars that are evenly matched, it was sooooo much fun, and as an added bonus the guy was a good sport about it.
