my ls1 with a ls6 intake has a loud whisle, im new to ls1 motors is this a common problem, i cant find any vacume leaks, it idles at around 1,300-1,500 it does have a pretty good size cam, car runs 11 20s with a six speed all motor, any info would be great, thanks.
Mine has the same whistle when it idles. I just tell people not to get to close to the ram air intake when they walk by !!! LOL !!!
my buddies 01 WS6 also does the same thing at random times.
I think it's the hole in the throttle body plate...
Might be your air pump.
i traced it down to the vacume line from the intake,my issue is that it is sucking air threw the valve cover gaskets. i put a vacume guage on the line and it idles at 35psi and when you rev it up and on the down rev it hits 70 psi, i have never seen that much vacume 25-30 is the most ive seen even on the down rev,any ideas on why i have so much vacume, it is trying to such the motor inside out. lol
