It came on yesterday and I checked the fluid levels. It is full. And the temperature is staying at it's normal level. I'm assuming it is a malfunctioning sensor. Am I correct, or could something else cause it to stay on.

yep... malfunctioning (speaking from experience)... mine is doing the same thing and has been doing it for a very long time...
mine started right around the time there was slight Trans Fluid leak coming off the line that goes into the radiator...to "cool it"... and it fell on the sensor
anyways... until you can change it...just check the colant level every once in a while... and everything should be fine
I currently have this problem also, and was wondering how difficult it is to replace the sensor myself. The dealer, of course, wants to charge an arm and a leg, and I want to make sure it's not an easy fix before I fork over the $'s!
