Need to replace broken LS1, how about an L92 stroker?
At a recent road racing school, I destroyed my LS1 engine. I knocked a hole inside-out in the block, and at least pistons #8 & #6 are totally trashed; therefore, the entire short block is trashed. I have been considering various options to get the car back onto the road.
I am very interested in replacing the LS1 with a 418 cu.in. L92 stroker short block from Texas Speed. I think that the cam (after inspection), oil pan, water pump, and all accessaries will transfer over. I will buy a new heavy duty oil pump. And I think that my 243 Patriot Performance heads should bolt on, as well as the LS6 intake. The L92 short block will be fitted with the 24x reluctor.
Have I covered everything? Any thoughts on any problems that I may run into. I do have LS1Edit for tuning purposes and a wide band O2 meter.
