82 shortbed

just wondering if anyone has or had a older gm truck...
i got a 82 shortbed silverado..always loved the looks
i plan on a 383 stroker and a 400 trans...with stall and gears..

i know traction will be an issue just wondering what u guys that had/have one think and can give me some opions...

any help would be appreciated..
