compression ratio question
my 1978 440 engine has a 8.2 comp. ratio, now i have a great way to raise this with just a head swap going from 88cc chamber to a 78cc, also im going from cast iron to aluminum and ofcourse more flow, i know i cant ask for great mileage from this motor but if i get more compression won't it allow for more power without using more fuel and be able to use less throttle just cruising around
this 440 is in my 88 ram pickup, probably gets 7-9mpg and will never get good mileage, but if i go with this head swap i will see more power, less weight and if there is a mpg increase its a bonus, what do you all think
