towing car?

i'll be moving to wyoming in a few weeks and am probably going to be towing my z. question is if i tow it will it hurt any of the drivetrain? do i need to disconnect the driveshaft? thanks for any help.

Good question...I'd think with it in neutral shouldn't be a problem. If you decide to remove the DS mark it's position so you can reinstall it as it came out of the car.

Unless you wanna end up like my buddy in Houston did and need a new drivetrain, you need to remove the driveshaft and plug up your tranny.

what did it do to it? the way things are looking now i'll prolly be driving it due to nobody having a dolly for a camaro

I'd have to call him for specifics, but it messed up his rear end pretty good. Just take off the driveshaft, it's only 4 bolts.

I was faced with this same problem a few weeks ago when I moved from California to Missouri. First I was concerned about messing up the rear end but then I found there was no commercial truck I could rent that had a wide enough dolly. I ended up driving a Penske truck here towing my Monte Carlo and the wife drove the Camaro. Best bet is to have it towed there. I was getting a lot of quotes online and a good well know auto transport costs around 800 bucks. Most places will not even start your car to tow it. It is door to door. Make sure you disconnect the driveline first though you DON'T want any rear end problems.
