I have just heard that alot is last on the bottom end when installing long tube headers on the LS1 motors. Is this true? and if so, just how much lost is it? and how long can I run the car without getting it tuned?

I just had Pacesetter LT's installed, and didn't notice any loss on the bottom. But then again, the car never felt like it had tons of torque below 2500 rpm's.
The big difference is in the mid to high rpm range - VERY noticeable.
You will not loose much down below and you will gain alot from the middle to the top!
As long as you get properly sized primaries (1 3/4" for most apps) you won't loose low end.
If it is tuned correctly wouldn't it be bennificial all the way around ? I know my touque and HP went up.
Usually, with longtubes, you will lose some low-end torque, but gain some top-end power.
