Whats a good brand? I'm on a reasonable budget so the less the better. Also are they really necessary? I heard the body panels would end up not lining up I didn't install any?

From EPP "Subframe Connectors - Absolutely necessary to keep your F Body from twisting and stretching. I have seen too many of these cars lose their door to fender gaps from having gone too long without subframe connectors. Subframe connectors will make the car handle better, you'll get fewer squeaks and the car will get better traction. We use BMR's box tube subframe connectors on most of our builds. BMR subframe connectors will not get in the way of exhaust systems, where a lot of the diamond style subframe connectors will cause interference when trying to run true duals."
I just bought a pair from GMS through the group buy on this site. Only $100 and they welded up just fine.

i attempted to buy some through that also, i will let you guys know how that goes.
i got mine through GMS and they went in very easy and made a big improvment
Personaly i picked up some Bmr weld in subframe connectors and love them. My main concern was the dimples that form in rear. Problem solved and the car feels stiffer.
Good investment

Would bolt on be the same? I'm not sure about welding something to my car...
i had mine done at a muffler shop for like 50.00....took 1/2 hr
Weld on perform better. No chance of them moving or the bolts coming loose.
UMI is the company I like to get my suspension pieces from.
I got BMR weld in's, I love em!
i just received mine from gms, they are weld in. you say a muffler shop can install em? thanks
just had my gms sfc's installed. just for the liitle bit i drove back home, it seems stiffer and seems to ride better.
bought mine from hotpart.com, brian was very helpful to my installation company
mine are BMR, and there weld in, i would not get bolt in's
Anyone know of a good how to on SFCs? I just got some BMR weld ins for my LT1 vert and the instructions suck much ass. I checked BMR's web site and the instructions listed there for the hardtop cars are much better, though a little different. I don't know why there would be any difference in installation between a vert and hardtop car??
By the way, a local speed shop here wants $395 to install. Seems like way too much to me.
quick question, are all SFC the same quality? Boxed or Tubular?
I have BMR boxed, and they're awesome. Just wondering, b/c the guy who installed it said Hotchkis is the best.
Not sure if all are of the same quality or not, but the thicker the wall of the tubing the stronger they will be. The boxed type are normally larger and stronger, but hang lower under the car and are somewhat visible from the side, whereas the tubular ones are not.
Yeah that seems like a bit to much. I paid my shop like $200 to install mine. Heres a write up on installation on a hardtop.

$65 or $70 bucks to have my tubular sfc's welded in, on my t-top z.
