alright I know high oil pressure isnt necessarily a bad thing but just recently my 01 c5 registers higher than normal pressure. I was just wondering if this is just another one of those wonderful c5 wire bugs. any way normal driving highway speed oil is at about 40 psi hot. now it registers 60 and up! I noticed when I let the key do its cycle, engine off, the guage doesnt go to 0 it stays at about 20 psi so Im sure its a guage of electrical problem wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

THe only way to know for sure is to hook up a mechanical oil pressure gauge to the oil port and verify the true pressure. Otherwise you are jus guessing.
at any rate, worry about low pressure. not high pressure. If you feel its too high, you can always run a thinner oil being that its summer. But 60 psi is not anything i'd worry about. i'd be happy to have that kind of pressure.
well it has since progressed to now when hot it says Im running at 116 psi so its either guage or sender so Im going to start throwing parts at it
many posts concerning sender unit failures. Some fail immediately after install.
Not fun to change, as I recall.
