1997 Camaro V6 won' start

I have a friend's 97 V6 Camaro in my shop that wont start. Starter and battery are good. All fuses good. When you turn on the key no action from the dash/gauges and OBDII reader shows no signal. I'm thinking it has a bad ECM. Hate to buy one if it is not needed. Is there a fusible link anywhere for the ECM? :( Anyone got any recommendations?

Bad ignition switch. Only 22$ but pita to replace

no, the actual switch. It is about halfway down the steering column on top. The key switch just moves a rod that goes to it.:ar:
