Shifting Speeds

This is prob a very newb question but ... I was Just wondering ... Whats the highest MPH per gear... i've never really payed any attention... and im starting to race at this parking lot type deal where we set up cones at night.. auto-x i think its called.. so yea.. any help would be appriciated

example... say im goin 55.. should i downshift into 1st? or would that produce to many RPM's for 1st?

i was talkin like

Top Speed 1st Gear: 35ish
Top Speed 2nd Gear: 50ish
etc...

i dont know the exact speeds or whatever.. thats what im lookin for.. so im sure those #'s are wrong

Hey Matt, I presume your car has a manual transmission...I think we're looking for the same thing. Hopefully someone has this info.

sweet man. yea im tryin for an fbody.... ive promised myself that that would be my first car no matter what, but since im short on cash its gonna be tough. i might end up (no bashing please lol) going with a v6 4th gen just so that i fulfill my promise to myself. yea ill most likely be goin south at least once this summer, so yea ill pass thru and let you know
