are you stock? If not post up what mods you have, and how long has this been happening, is it only at idle, if you give a little gas does it go away, what rpm do you idle at? automatic or Manual?
ya im stock except for an slp lid and t stat its been happening for about a month, mine idles at like 500-600 rpm and it does seem to go away when you give it gas, its an a4
How many miles on your car? could quite possibly dirty injectors.
seems like 500-600 is a little low it does sound like the inj may be dirty
My car is A4 also and it idles at 500-600 also while in drive. I think the M6 is programmed to idle a little faster but not for sure. but sounds as if perhaps some seafoam could cure this guys problem. hard to tell for sure with no codes being thrown.
Sea Foam Whats That? A Fuel Additive, Will It Harm The O2 Sensors Or My Cats? I Just Put Some New Spark Plugs In And It Helped A Little
i have msd 8.5 wires that are only a month old but im not sure about the coil packs. We the seafoam damage my spark plugs?
Is your throttle body dirty? That will make the vehicle idle rough as well, I cleaned mine, and my rough idle went away entirely. I just bought carb cleaner, took of the airbox lid and bellows, and spray some in there and take a soft cloth and wipe it out, spray on the springs and open and close the throttle body....
I have had like 3 fuel injectors fail in my car since I got it new, so also could be a fuel injector obviously, but you can easily inspect your throttle body yourself.
Have you changed the fuel filter lately?
STP fuel inj. cleaner, it helped my 93' lt1 when i had the same problem
not trying to hijack anyones thread here, but I also have the same problem. I have changed plugs, wires. My only mod is a MTI lid....my idle is around 500 also ('01 WS6 - 52k miles) and it's rough....
You first need to find out if you have any leaks in the intake of makybe any of the intake hoses. Get a can of carb cleaner or fuel injector cleaner and spray over the edges of the intake and hoses and listen for a change in idle. If it does change in idle then you have a leak of some sort. Last time I had an issue, I had a hole in my PCV tube right next to the throttle body. I replaced it with a piece of coolant hoses and that was that.
