They're too busy making ghey remakes of older classics that nobody wants to see again. But I agree, it would be nice if they made some more movies where cars played a more prominent role in the plot. It wouldn't even have to be about racing either. For example, a good car movie I always liked was Charlie Sheen's "No Mans Land". It was about a crime ring stealing Porsches. Great movie.
i think a few worth mentioning are gone in 60 seconds [which i would support a second version if they made one], BadBoys 1 & 2, and the transporter.
Transporter was OK, but Transporter 2 was complete :bs:
Cause the tuner crowd will be out in droves to see a bunch of honda's pretending to be fast. If they had a movie like fast and furious with all American muscle it wouldnt do so good. Why? Cause we are all too cheap to spend $8 or more to go see it in the theatre, we wait til it comes out on DVD.
The problem isn't so much we are cheap, it's that the people running Hollywood and the movie house business are far too greedy. Tickets for a show should never cost more than $8. Look at the price gouging on popcorn and drinks. It's ridiculous, no wonder people aren't going to the movies as much as they did in past times.Quote:

The movie theatres do not get any money from the movie. That is why the concession stands are so expensive. All the money goes to the up keep of the theatre. The movie theatres don't get one cent of the millions made every weekend by the movie they show.

Did anyone see The Last Ride on USA right after the GTO came out, it was basically a 2 hour GTO ommercial but it had a old and new GTO in it and had a decent plot.

Hollywood cannot make a decent car ovie becasue they have no clue as to what real cars are. They drive in Audi's and BMW's and Mercedes, and they hang with the rich bastards that also do not understand what the average American likes.

And Sorry, but Gone in 60 Seconds sucked. It had some nice cars, but the BS jumping of the Stang on the bridge was what destroyed it. Ghey Ghey Ghey!!!!!
