best LS1 spark plugs ?

What is the best performing spark plug for the LS1?

Does anyone disagree with the long service interval on the 02 LS1 spark plug change ? Benefits of 60K change or just more risk of damaging something...

Any advice on changing plug wires and/OR plugs? I heard that the head bolts are the same size on one of the years...

Plugs shouldn't add power.
It is a maintenance item, not a performance mod.

I got TR55's but the gap is not the same on all plugs. What should I gap it to for a natural aspirated mildly modded motor (for now mwahahahaha)?

why the gap at .055? I thought the manual called for .044 or something.

Stock is .060" IIRC, but I believe there was a TSB to gap them to .040" to cure erratic idle problems in some cars. :dunno:

Stock is 0.060"
Gap for the TR55's on a stock or near stock motor should be set at .055".



I think the iridium plugs call for lower gaps.

I'm actually going to replace my plugs soon also, are the NGK TR55's you guys mention the "V-power" ones or the "iridium" or ?

I have gotten pretty quick at the change, and change my plugs yearly. I run the V-Power type. $2 each.

The iridium ones are like $8 a pop, but will last 3-4 times as long.

Anutha vote 4 the NGK TR55's-just bought 4 today cuz they only had 4 last week & they're $2.09/ea at AutoZone (part #3951) :cool:

You mean the e3 plugs?? We sell them at work, I've sold a bunch for lawnmowers and small engines, but none yet for cars because we don't keep them in stock. They make all kinds of claims about better spark and increased efficiency, never seen any hard evidence though.
