Need opinions on which block to choose
I am putting together plans for a ground up engine build for an 02 Z28. I am currently running an STS kit @ 5psi. on an LS6 block and the STS will be carried on to the project motor.
I was thinking of using the 6.0L iron block for a foundation. Any input on this block and it's capabilities would be much appreciated! I saw an LS iron block on GM Parts Direct p/n 12572808 9.240" deck height, 3.98" bore, 6 bolt main, nodular cap material, standard LS crankshaft journal diameter. wet oiling, 1 piece seal, 4.00" max stock, 500 max horsepower, street usage, LQ9 origin
Would this be an acceptable block for this build up? Plans are looking like to stroke it, run around 7-10 psi. boost level, no No2, no sure baout cam, intake, valvetrain and specs. on bottom end. Just trying to take this one part at a time to ensure a proper build.
Any input would excellent and appreciated.
